Like the 12 recent symposia, the 13^th International Symposium on PASSIVE SAFETY of RAIL VEHICLES in March 2024 will be “the place to be” for all professional experts in the field of Railway Technology, Rolling Stock (Passenger Trains, Metro, Tram, Freight Trains), Crashworthiness, Interior Design. 

In the 13^th edition of this conference, there will be more influence of “digital driven topics” like SIMULATION and A.I. approaches – presented by new service providers.

The PASSIVE SAFETY SYMPOSIUM (also known as the “world summit of passive safety”) is not only a perfect place for very excellent PRESENTATIONS and inspiring DISCUSSIONS – it is also the very best location for COMMUNITY BUILDING among Experts, Clients, Customers, Research People who are working professionally in PASSIVE SAFETY / RAIL VEHICLES. During the 13^th international symposium on PASSIVE SAFETY of RAIL VEHICLES we are expecting lectures (30 min), presentations (15 min) and workshops (45 – 60 min) on all relevant topics of PASSIVE SAFETY, especially on one of the following aspects:

• PASSIVE SAFETY of RAIL VEHICLES – General Aspects (Active Safety vs. Passive Safety)
• Development in Crash energy management – Crashworthiness
• Interior equipment – Passenger Safety in Trains, Trams and Metro Trains etc.
• Current research projects (and research needs) – lessons learnt from recent damages
• Crashworthiness standards (crashworthiness and structural integrity)
• Evacuation concepts (train, tram, car, bus, airplane)
• Deformation concepts and deformation elements (crash energy management and / or innovative materials)
• Legal aspects – verification and homologation (TSI)
• Experiences with EN 15227
• Testing versus simulation (new methods of calculation) – new A.I. approaches
• ALL OTHER relevant aspects of passive safety, crashworthiness and interior design
• EXHIBITION: Presentation and demonstration of new products and special services related to PASSIVE SAFETY, CRASH ENERGY MANAGEMENT and INTERIOR EQUIPMENT
